CITY AWAKENING PROJECT SIGHTSEEING SPOTS

Step by step, you encounter the awakening landscapes

As you walk through the morning, these places emerge naturally — a dialogue extended by the city.

  • Taipei Flower Market

The Taipei Flower Market, officially known as Taipei Flowers Auction Co., Ltd., is the largest wholesale flower market in Taiwan. It opens at 4:00 a.m. each day, and within just eight hours, it supplies floral materials to hundreds of florists, design studios, and gardening professionals.
The market is divided into two main halls—Hall A and Hall B—connected by a skybridge over Minshan Street. Hall A primarily deals in cut flowers, foliage, and floral supplies, while Hall B specializes in potted plants, ornamental leaves, herbs, and succulents. At the heart of operations is a Dutch-style auction system for cut flowers, where licensed buyers place live bids and flowers are distributed on the spot—a rare and dynamic scene in Taiwan.
More than just a market, it connects growers, logistics, and floral designers across the industry. From roses, lilies, and oncidiums grown in central and southern Taiwan to dried flowers and floral tools prepared onsite, the market serves as a backstage hub for the city’s floral world—powering every bouquet, every arrangement, and every installation seen across Taipei.
Though open to the public from early morning to noon, its most fascinating moments happen before sunrise. This is one of Taipei’s earliest waking corners—a place where each day’s floral journey begins, with the careful selection of every bloom.

A morning waterside where dragonflies dance.

In the heart of Neihu—beyond the overpasses and glass office towers—Jin-Rui Flood Management Park reveals itself as a quiet green space, built not only for urban drainage but also as a refuge for biodiversity. Along the waterfront, tiered seating and walkways offer peaceful vantage points to watch dragonflies hover above the pond—or catch sight of a crested serpent eagle circling overhead.
